My Spouse Has Borderline Personality Disorder!

When your spouse has borderline personality disorder (BP), whether it’s a sudden realization or a long-known fact, it can be challenging. Those in relationships with BP individuals may be subject to unique forms of manipulation or toxicity. Recognizing these habits of the BP is the first step to liberation.I will address different toxic tools here so you can pick from both articles the toxicity that you are experiencing. You may not have all of them and I may not address all of the ones you are experiencing. I also am addressing emotionally leaving the damage of the BP. The decision to leave the BP physically is a personal decision and might be best made after leaving emotionally.

It’s also important to note the difference between those with borderline personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder. While the two conditions manifest similarly, especially in relationships, there are differences in the tactics the NP and BP individuals use to manipulate their loved ones. This article will deal with leaving and recovery from BP individuals, notleavingandrecoveringfrom the NP.

One important distinction I’d like to address before we tackle a few of the toxic tools of the BP is the difference between violence and anger. If you have a partner who is capable of violence, you need to do whatever is necessary tokeep you safe. If you have a partner who is volatile and can demonstrate intense anger, but no violence, do not be intimidated by the anger. As you start to get healthy, be prepared for the BP to get intensely angry. Do not stop getting healthy because the BP has intense anger. This will take rigor and you can do it!

Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi released on compassionate grounds

Thursday, August 20, 2009

Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi, the only individual convicted in connection with the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988, has been released by Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill, on compassionate grounds.

Megrahi is suffering from terminal prostate cancer and will be allowed to return to his home country of Libya.

270 people were killed when, on December 21, 1988, the Pan-Am flight from London’s Heathrow Airport to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport was destroyed by a bomb whilst in flight over southern Scotland.

A police convoy escorted Megrahi from his former prison home in HMP Greenock to Glasgow Airport, where he boarded an Afriqiyah Airways flight to Tripoli. He was told he could not remain in Scotland on security grounds.

In announcing the release on compassionate grounds, Justice Secretary MacAskill stated, “Al-Megrahi now faces a sentence imposed by a higher power. It is one that no court in any jurisdiction could revoke or overrule. It is terminal, final and irrevocable. He is going to die”.

The UK families are united in believing that the full independent enquiry for which we have been asking since 1989 should now take place

The conviction remains controversial. Last year then-president of US group Victims of Pan Am Flight 103 told Wikinews that the vast majority were satisfied in Megrahi’s guilt. UK Families Flight 103 painted a very different picture to Wikinews of the opinions in Britain: “UK Families have different views about Megrahi’s guilt or innocence. Certainly some, including my husband and I, believe that we are not in a position to make a judgment about whether he was involved in some way or not,” said group coordinator Jean Berkley, whose son was killed. “Much of the evidence at the trial was circumstantial and confusing and it is a fact that the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission, after considering the matter for three years, came to the conclusion that there were grounds for appeal. The UK families are united in believing that the full independent inquiry for which we have been asking since 1989 should now take place, to deal with the many unanswered questions and enable the evidence which would have emerged from the now abandoned appeal to be made public.” This is in sharp contrast to The Daily Telegraph, which earlier reported that the majority of British families felt Megrahi was innocent.

The United States government had been strongly opposed to any possible release. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had previously called the possibility “absolutely wrong”. MacAskill sought to justify the decision by commenting that “Compassion and mercy are about upholding the beliefs th[at] we seek to live by, remaining true to our values as a people – no matter the severity of the provocation or the atrocity perpetrated.”

Megrahi issued a statement shortly before leaving HMP Greenock in which he maintained his innocence. “The remaining days of my life are being lived under the shadow of the wrongness of my conviction. I have been faced with an appalling choice: to risk dying in prison in the hope that my name is cleared posthumously or to return home still carrying the weight of the guilty verdict, which will never now be lifted. The choice which I made is a matter of sorrow, disappointment and anger, which I fear I will never overcome,” said Megrahi.

I want him returned from Scotland the same way my wife Lorraine was and that would be in a box

Robert Gibbs, press secretary for the White House, said “The United States deeply regrets the decision by the Scottish Executive to release Abdel Basset Mohamed al-Megrahi. As we have expressed repeatedly to officials of the government of the United Kingdom and to Scottish authorities, we continue to believe that Megrahi should serve out his sentence in Scotland.” Many US victims have also reacted with anger.

Many US victims’ families have reacted with anger. One relative commented that “This might sound crude or blunt, but I want him returned from Scotland the same way my wife Lorraine was and that would be in a box.” Dr. Jim Swire, a UK victim, disagreed, saying Megrahi had “nothing to do with” the disaster and calling the earlier dropping of the appeal “a blow to those of us who seek the truth.”

Megrahi’s plane was greeted by crowds in Tripoli waving both Libyan and Scottish flags. Seif al-Islam, son of Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi, held his hand as he exited the aircraft amid heavy security. Loudspeakers broadcast patriotic music and it is reported that celebrations are ongoing in Tripoli.

Atlas V successfully launches spy satellite

Atlas V successfully launches spy satellite

Thursday, March 13, 2008

An Atlas V rocket has successfully launched a classified spy satellite for the United States National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The satellite, currently known to the public as NRO L-28, or Launch 28, is believed by amateur enthusiasts to be a signals intelligence (SIGINT) spacecraft, known by the codename Trumpet. The Atlas V carrier rocket flew in the 411 configutation, with a 4 metre diameter fairing, one solid rocket motor, and a single-engine Centaur upper stage.

The rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Space Launch Complex 3 East (SLC-3E), at 10:02 GMT (03:02 local time) this morning. Today’s flight marks the thirteenth launch of the Atlas V, and the first Atlas V launch from Vandenberg. It is also the tenth orbital launch of 2008. The satellite entered a Molniya orbit, usually used by the NRO for SIGINT and communications satellites.

The launch was conducted by United Launch Alliance, a joint venture between Lockheed Martin, who designed and built the Atlas V, and Boeing, to provide EELV launches for the US Government. ULA president Michael Gass described the launch as “a proud moment in our company’s history”. The launch had been delayed by two years, from early 2006, due to a number of factors.

In addition to its reconnaissance payload, the satellite is carrying two small experiments. SBIRS-HEO 2 and TWINS-B. SBIRS is a test article for a missile detection system, slated to launch late this year or early next, and TWINS is a NASA infrared astronomy experiment. They will remain attached to the satellite for the duration of its mission.

Following the separation of the payload fairing, around five minutes after launch, all information on the launch was withheld, however about an hour into the flight, the launch was confirmed to have been successful. ULA will conduct its next launch on Saturday, when a Delta II will orbit a GPS satellite. The next Atlas launch is scheduled for mid-April, with the ICO G1 communication satellite.

Homeopathy A Good Companion To Chiropractic? Naturally!

Submitted by: Patrick K. Porter, PhD

If you’re looking for a natural treatment alternative and a boost to your practice, homeopathy may be the answer. At least, so says Dr. Gill Gilly. The 83-year-old naturopath says he studied homeopathy in Europe after his “retirement” as a minister because he’d seen a little of what the natural healing method could accomplish.

I d seen great, fantastic results, and I wanted to know more about it, shares Dr. Gilly.

Gilly, who was born in a small town in Oklahoma, says their only town doctor was a homeopath who also did manipulations thus introducing Dr. Gilly to natural medicine and chiropractic at an early age. That and other encounters throughout his life eventually led him to a new career in homeopathy. Because of his exposure to both homeopathy and chiropractic, he quickly saw how the two could fit together.

The average patient today is always looking for the magic pill. They re used to taking medicine, explains Gilly. The people who actually try chiropractic realize the adjustments and the treatments maintain their health, but they like to feel they re doing something, too.

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNbxwWZ1D30[/youtube]

Gilly says many chiropractors are aware of homeopathy s effectiveness, but don t realize how it can benefit their practice. That s why he sometimes comes out of retirement to conduct seminars that show DCs exactly what homeopathy can do for them.

A lot of doctors have heard of homeopathy, they realize what it can do, but I try to give not just the background, but a really strong, working knowledge, says Dr. Gilly. One example, he says, is his workshop at the International Chiropractic Appreciation Mega Event (ICAME) in Las Vegas in January. My workshop will help doctors understand how and why it works with them.

Another reason Gilly says homeopathy is such a good fit for chiropractors is that it isn t time-consuming or difficult or dangerous.

The average doctor today, whether a medical doctor, chiropractor, naturopath or dentist, concentrates on a specialty, he says. That s why homeopathy is so good, because it can do no harm. It s never going to have a side-effect.

Dr. Gilly also says that, while chiropractic care can be effective for many conditions, homeopathy can bridge the gaps, such as joint pain from arthritis.

People who have discomfort can get relief from the discomfort. Homeopathy can help a patient respond quicker to your adjustments. And, of course, that builds your reputation as a healer.

And, Gilly says, boosting your reputation as a healer can boost your practice to almost unheard-of levels.

With homeopathy, you can support the treatment you re giving, and you can do it harmlessly and effectively. In fact, it usually surpasses the expected results of both the patient and the doctor. The doctor that uses homeopathy sees his practice go right through the roof, he says.

When someone who has been to ten other doctors comes to your practice and starts getting results, they can t wait to tell all their friends and relatives. Within a very short time, it builds.

Canadian university students would prefer MP3 players over car radios

">
Canadian university students would prefer MP3 players over car radios

Friday, March 30, 2007

At Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, students are finding that popular MP3 players, such as Apple’s iPod, are very convenient devices for listening to music at the gym, while traveling on foot, and in the car.

In a recent ad-hoc survey conducted by Wikinews contributor Darren Mar, 150 students were randomly pulled aside in the hallways of the university, and asked if they own an MP3 player. 94 of the 150 students (62.66%) did in fact own MP3 devices, most of who were found to be carrying it on them when questioned. There was one simple follow up question for those who had a player: “If it were possible to have complete and safe control of the device on the steering wheel of a car, would you rather listen to your device, or the radio?” There were three answers possible, yes, no or both. Of the 94, 78 (82.98%) said yes, eleven (11.70%) said no, and five (5.32%) said both. The reporting took place primarily on March 16, 2007. The reasons for those who would listen to their device were commercial free music, personalized choice of music, and complete control of what you are listening to.

This study was motivated by the new design of 2006+ model cars. Many are being built with auxiliary jacks for the stock radio, allowing the driver to easily connect any audio playing device to the car’s sound system with a simple 3.5mm plug. What’s more, cars in the upper price echelon are being built with (1) a custom made area in the dash for MP3 players (iPod’s being the most popular), and (2) implementing audio device control right onto the steering wheel. A good example of this is the Ford Fusion or the 2007 Lexus IS250: “The centre console input port allows an iPod, MP3 or Windows Media Audio player to be plugged into the IS audio system.”

As families fled their homes in the early morning hours on Thursday October 26, there was no warning. The Esperanza Fire southeast of Los Angeles and West of Palm Springs, California, had ballooned under the influence of Santa Ana winds to more than 19,000 acres as of the morning of October 27. No time to get the animals, no time for crates or even a leash. Sadly, owners left behind not only their horses, lamas, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, but also their dogs and cats.

Many of the families who did manage to evacuate their pets found themselves in the parking lot at the Fellowship in the Pass Church Red Cross Shelter where a MuttShack Animal Rescue team caught up with them.

Pam Anderson, Director of the emergency Red Cross shelter said that many people with animals had come and left.

The air was thick with smoke, and ash was raining down on the parking lot where dog owners, not able to take their dogs into the shelter were camping out in pup tents andin their cars.

Those who could afford it checked themselves into pet friendly hotels in nearby towns.

Some were prepared. Jane Garner, a small dog breeder was able to get all her animals out, and had set up her puppy runs alongside her RV in the parking lot. Others were not doing too well, having left home without as much as a leash.

The same scenario played out at the Red Cross shelter at Hemet High School. Animals were being boarded in vans, trailers and cars and small travel crates.

When MuttShack Animal Rescue arrived, a small fracas had sent several dogs off in different directions, running out of the school parking lot down busy streets necessitating an instant rescue response.

The Incident Command for the Esperanza Animals, Ramona Humane Society in San Jacinto welcomed MuttShack‘s offer to help at the shelters.

Ramona Humane Society had recently published a notice in their Newsletter about the newly passed “PETS Act”and warned owners not wait until a major disaster such as an earthquake or fireto prepare. “Be proactive to ensure that your pet will be taken care of.”

MuttShack and PetSmart Charities set up ad hoc facilities for the animals at both shelters.

The Red Cross shelter, run by Madison Burtchaell of the Orange County Red Cross was very accommodating about allowing a small emergency pet shelter adjacent to the School.

Barbara A. Fought of PetSmart Charities, an organization that works with animal welfare organizations and provide assistance in disasters, provided crates and emergency supplies.

MuttShack and Red Cross volunteers, Martin St. John, Tom Hamilton, and Steve Meissner helped assemble the crates to secure a safe environment for evacuated pets.

It was a great relief for evacuees who had camped out in the parking lot to finally leave their vehicles and relax at the shelter, setting up their cots to grab some sorely needed rest.

Firefighters and residents reported loss of wildlife and animals. The Esperanza fire burned 34 homes, consumed 40,000 acres and cost five Firefighters their lives before it was contained four days later on October 30. Firefighting operations cost nearly $10 million.

MuttShack Animal Rescue is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization active in disasters and dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and care of lost or discarded dogs, cats and other animals.

Mukasey nomination as attorney general moves to US Senate

">
Mukasey nomination as attorney general moves to US Senate

Tuesday, November 6, 2007

The nomination of Judge Michael Mukasey as the next Attorney General of the United States, passed the Senate Judiciary Committee today and will move to a vote before the entire United States Senate. Two Democrats joined the nine Republicans to yield an 11-8 vote. Observers believe that Mukasey will easily succeed in the Senate vote.

The nomination of Mukasey by George W. Bush had originally drawn broad support. Nonetheless, Mukasey triggered a political row, during pre-confirmation questioning, when he refused to state that waterboarding amounted to illegal torture. In the end, he was able secure the votes of the two Democrats after assuring them that, if Congress passed legislation that made waterboarding illegal, he would in fact work to enforce such a law.

Patrick Leahy, Senator from Vermont, who opposed Mukasey said: “Some have sought to find comfort in Judge Mukasey’s personal assurance that he would enforce a future, a new law against waterboarding if this Congress were to pass one. Unsaid, of course, is the fact that any such prohibition would have to be enacted over the veto of the president.”

I don’t believe a leaderless department is in the best interests of the American people

“Now, I wish I could support Judge Mukasey’s nomination,” Senator Leahy further said. “I like Michael Mukasey. We have many things in common in our past careers. I certainly don’t question his intellectual ability or his independence.”

The two Democrats that voted for Mukasey were Senator Chuck Schumer of New York and Senator Dianne Feinstein of California. Schumer has been reported as suggesting Mukasey as Attorney General to White House during the search for a nominee.

Schumer defended his vote, saying: “If six months from now … the same policies continued, the victory in defeating Mukasey would seem hollow. No one questions that Judge Mukasey would do much to remove the stench of politics from the Justice Department. I believe we should give him that chance.”

Feinstein said that her vote for Mukasey was because, otherwise, Bush could have an acting Attorney General, who would not need confirmation, until the end of his term. In explaing this, she said: “I don’t believe a leaderless department is in the best interests of the American people or of the department itself. [Bush] appointed this man because he believes he is mainstream.”

Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts did not agree with Mukasey’s view on waterboarding. “Waterboarding is already illegal under United States law. It’s illegal under the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit outrages upon personal dignity, including cruel, humiliating and degrading treatment,” he said.

White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said of the committee vote: “Judge Mukasey has clearly demonstrated that he will be an exceptional attorney general at this critical time.”

Professional Web Design Company: Why You Need To Hire One And How

Submitted by: Adam Kirkby

Looking for the proper professional web design company to care for your online enterprise demands not be an instantaneous choice. With many companies and people proclaiming to be professionals at web design lately, it may be very tough to uncover a professional web design company which you can trust.

Together with the flooding of freelance web designers featuring pro solutions at more affordable fees, or providers promising taking your business to another level, it s simple to get confused or mislead with their phony offers and promises. At the end of the day, your business accomplishments is what counts and so once you invest time and money right into a job you need to be confident you find a trust-proven web firm.

Why is there a need to partner with a professional web design company?

It is a simple fact that the net has developed into a trusted information and facts provider of our period, so if you don t team up with a professional web design company that has a validated reputation, your competition may get the competitive benefit and may rule the on-line sphere.

Employing a professional web design company to deal with the job for your enterprise is, therefore, necessary to get your company in front of the game within your niche market. Though numerous of the smaller and low-cost firms may have all of the solutions for you, like Search engine marketing and e-commerce, you have got to make sure that their final results are successful and that your expenditure is worth every penny.

[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IFwZtcKSY0[/youtube]

Low charge and novice web design may perhaps have an effect on your business in a negative way rather than beneficially. You don’t desire a poorly created internet site or advertising tools that do not work, and most of all you do not want terrible search engine rankings.

How your web page looks inform visitors the value, relevance, and dependability of your business. The over-all perception of your business website echoes generally of what your organization represents. If you’d like to bring focus towards your business website, if you need to be apparent inside your market, if you’d like to be more competitive, you need a professional web strategy. Don’t forget that in case your web-site appears to be amateurish on the web, odds are you will likely be perceived to be providing bad quality products and services.

The web sector is incredibly competitive; so, you will need to have a professional web design company to guide you through the challenging maze of web marketing and digital strategies. You need to obtain an expert net advisor to make your business optimised for the market or else your web-site is going to be needless to you.

Some guidelines to help you you find a professional web design company

Experience

Even though this will not speak considerably of the agency or individual s entire potential, it really is vital to look to their level and time period of expertise as this may help offer you a view of the level of quality of job they are able to or can not give.

Also, keep in mind that experience could be misleading. A much less experienced web designer does not necessarily imply that they’re going to offer you a low quality web-site, and an experienced one will offer you a premium quality one. You will discover many internet designers out there who’ve many experience but stay on their outdated habits. You can find also newer web designers who’re pretty proficient and updated with the latest trends, and as a result, employ current methods when it comes to web design. So although experience is often an edge, it isn’t the only element to be evaluating.

Portfolio

This can be one of the most important evidence of the designer or company s expertise. This could show you what they’ve executed for other people and can provide you with an indication of what they can do for you.

Skills

It’s also helpful to understand the skill sets the company you’re aiming to employ posses, to make sure they’ve what it requires to supply web design & development which provides results. You don t need to get a a degree on this but it s important to ask the issues as this will give you an indication of their enthusiasm and capacity to give you what you need. Expertise in HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP / .Net, Flash, Seo, graphics creation, video advertising, social networking and others may be some of the skills you need in producing your internet site, so it is vital to know if the professional web design company you are going to employ can give in all areas or will you need several firms that concentrate on several key areas.

Ask them if they have the abilities you’ll need. If these people do, then they may well be a suited prospect to work for you and deliver the business web site you will need.

Australia: Latrobe Valley historical societies ask for greater funding in budget submissions

Australia: Latrobe Valley historical societies ask for greater funding in budget submissions

Thursday, May 27, 2021

On Monday, Barbara Johnson, secretary of the Latrobe Combined History Group, spoke to Latrobe City councillors in Morwell, Victoria, Australia asking for an increase in grants to local historical societies. Since 1994, the area’s six historical societies have received a yearly grant of A$500 each from the council for administrative purposes. In her speech, Johnson spoke about historical societies as a “repository of information for [the council]”, and stressed that they needed to “remain alive and viable” to provide services to the council when needed.

The meeting of the council which Johnson spoke at was unscheduled, coming about after the council’s draft budget was released on April 12, with a period of 28 days being allowed for submissions on proposals in the draft budget. Johnson, who submitted on behalf of the Latrobe Combined History Group, opted to also speak on her written submission at the Monday’s meeting.

Johnson mentioned rising communication costs in her speech, saying that in the past few years, postage costs have doubled. While historical societies have attempted to reduce costs by moving to the internet, said Johnson, this still meant spending on domain names, software and web development. Societies are also obligated to test and tag their equipment, and in the case of the Traralgon Historical Society, the expense for this is in excess of A$250 annually.

Johnson said that each society has had to make its own changes on meeting increased cost and demand, citing the Traralgon Historical Society as an example, which reduced the number of bulletins it produces, and stopped outsourcing production of bulletins to local businesses, which Johnson said took “income away from businesses within the town”. She concluded her speech by remarking that historical societies “need to remain here if we are able to have that for future generations”.

In her written submission, Johnson requested A$1000 per society, and confirmed after a question from Councillor Dale Harriman that such a suggestion would cost the council A$3000 more than the status quo. Harriman stated that “there’s ongoing work [that historical societies] are doing for council, of great benefit to the whole community, and we’re paying [historical societies] A$500 like we did seventeen years ago”.

Harriman also asked Johnson how much historical societies were charging for the work they were doing. In one example, Traralgon and Moe societies provided maps to identify asbestos in residential housing, with Johnson saying that the cost charged was A$400, to which Harriman responded that A$400 was “less than it cost you to actually chase up and find them”.

The Latrobe Combined History Group, which Johnson represents, includes six historical societies from Boolarra, Moe, Morwell, Traralgon, Yallourn North and Yinnar.

Microsoft waits for death of Internet Explorer 6

Microsoft waits for death of Internet Explorer 6
By Admin | Posted in Uncategorized

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

With development of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) browser almost complete, Microsoft announced on Friday that it is time for IE6 users to move away from the antiquated 10-year-old browser. Microsoft has replaced it with three newer versions. On a new website, “The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown”, Microsoft has launched an aggressive campaign to persuade users to stop using IE6 and update to a newer IE. Its goal is to decrease IE6 users to less than one percent.

“[Ten] years ago, a browser was born. Its name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we’re in 2011, in an era of modern web standards, it’s time to say goodbye,” Microsoft says on “The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown”.

Internet Explorer’s market share is slipping. IE’s various versions accounted for 70 percent of the market in 2009; this has dropped to approximately 56 percent today. Mozilla Firefox, its main rival, has been actively increasing its market share while the recently released Google Chrome is also quickly gaining users. PC World’s recent analysis of its own web traffic statistics concluded, “Usually, Internet Explorer is the #2 browser after Firefox, but over the past 30 days it’s been #3, a couple of points behind Safari-and nearly tied with Chrome. It might be a statistical blip. But if it isn’t, and Chrome continues to surge, IE could fall to fourth place.”

Web developers face big problems with IE6. As they design their web pages for the newer browsers with advanced web technology and geared to the newest web core markup language HTML 5, they are forced to accommodate older out-of-date technology to support IE6 users. Also, not mentioned on Microsoft’s “The Internet Explorer 6 Countdown” site, are the numerous security vulnerabilities putting the browser at risk of being hacked. The Internet security firm Secunia.com, has said that as of March 4, 2011, IE6 has 277 vulnerabilities; 39 percent of these are rated “highly critical”. Microsoft says that the latest versions of Internet Explorer provide the user with enhanced protection from these attacks and threats.

Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6 is one of the most successful software products ever as measured by its durability and the massive numbers of people who have used it. IE6 shipped with Windows XP, nearly a decade ago. But it has outlived its usefulness, and Microsoft no longer wants to support it.
