Three different ways to mount outdoor picnic tables provide convenience and maximum security.
Portable outdoor tables can be moved quickly out of storage and setup to accommodate special events. Municipalities typically use portable tables to celebrate occasions like Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Churches also prefer portable tables because they can be used to quickly set up any type of outdoor celebration. Both wooden and metal tables are available to match the dcor of the surroundings.
There are also outdoor tables that mount to either the concrete or to the ground itself. Both of these mounting options minimize the likelihood of theft. Concrete mounted tables can be fixed to any patio or sidewalk surface. In-ground mounting allows a table to be mounted directly to the earth and fixed in place with a concrete mooring that anchors leg extensions in place.
Outdoor picnic table composition makes them weather and vandal resistant.
Wooden outdoor tables are treated to make them as weather resistant as possible. Teak wood is one of the most weather resistant types of wood, and it is also one of the most attractive. Teak tables are ideal for caf patios in places like natural parks, lakes, and vacation resorts. They are also popular with many hotels because a few teak patio tables can make a swimming pool area look much more upscale than it actually is.
Other outdoor picnic tables are made from either plastic or treated metal. The reason for this is obvious. Both plastic and treated metal are water resistant. Even the best of wood will become weakened over time with repeated direct contact with water. Plastic, however, is nonabsorbent and will not deteriorate if rained on.
Thermoplastic coated metal is even better than plastic when it comes to durability. It has the strength of metal, but it also has the nonabsorbent, corrosion resistance of plastic. Thermoplastic is a special material that is electrostatically applied to magnetically bond it to metal. If it is deliberately cut as an act of vandalism, it can be repaired with a simple heat gun. Thermoplastic coated outdoor tables will neither fade nor rust no matter how much direct sunlight or rain strikes their surface.
Outdoor picnic table designs are so diversified now they can accommodate the seating requirements of any outdoor environment.
There are a wide variety of shapes to accommodate the unique outdoor requirements of public parks, school playgrounds, city squares, and churches. Most organizations prefer an outdoor table with some kind of bench seat design. This design features seats that are built into the frame of the table itself. Shapes include circular, rectangular, oval, and octagonal table tops. Selecting the most appropriate size and shape table should be based upon the number of expected occupants per table, exterior architecture, and landscape design.
The most notable designs on the market now are outdoor picnic tables designed specifically for children. Children often get excited when they sit too long at a table. There is always the risk of them jostling against the side of the tabletop or even falling off their seats. Consequently, childrens tables feature lower bench seats and rounded table tops that minimize the risk of injury in either event.
